Dell introduced the 5130 Color Laser Printer in November 2009, with an OEM-rated print speed of 47 pages per minute (ppm) and a duty cycle rating of 110,000 pages per month.

Toner cartridges are a tube-style design, and require chips for the printer to function correctly. The 5130 ships with standard page yield toner cartridges (9,000 page yield black and 6,000 page yield color). Replacement toner cartridges are available in 18,000 page yield (black) and 12,000 page yield (color).
